Only signed up for this race the week before so I collected my number on the day, payment email said I would receive another email later in the week which I didn't, Sat Nav took me to the wrong place, eventually found it and parked up. After this everything went smoothly, number pick up was good, no queues (could be down to the fact I was down to the wire) and everywhere was clearly marked. The course itself is undulating with a big hill at 8 miles which goes on for over a mile. The course varies between roads, canal paths, a muddy park and running around the stadium really enjoyed the varying views of this race. There were plenty of water stations and a few spots energy gels were given out. Once over the finishing line I collected my goody bag which had a medal, t shirt, banana water and the usual leaflets, another nice touch was getting a free pie with the coupon on my race number, suppose I had to with it being held in Wigan.
