First time running the Reading half and had a great day. Race packs were sent out well ahead of the race so didn't have to queue up at all to get registered. Stopped off at the race village quickly before the race and it had a nice atmosphere to it - could have used a bit more signage or even bigger signs pointing the way to the start pens. The waved starts worked so well - a few minutes wait between waves and each got there own little starting countdown which was a nice touch and meant we were across the line in now time and the course never felt over crowded. The course itself was pretty straight forward. Two slight hills at around 3 and 8 miles, flat for the most part and even down hill for the last 2! Crowd support was great especially through the town centre - not so much on the last two/three miles which was one long road but worth it for the fantastic stadium finish! Water stations were well placed, never had an issue getting a plastic pouch and a few of them even had lucozade. As said before the stadium finish was amazing and really pushed you into finishing strong. Great medal however little disappointed by the quality of the goodie bag at the end - was expecting a little more the price paid. Overall whilst on the steeper price side of half marathons was a great day and a very friendly course. Would recommend for anyone looking for a relatively flat half marathon especially in the run up to the Spring Marathon season.
