← MBNA Chester 10K

An out and back course starting near the Northgate Leisure Centre which hosted the HQ, toilets and changing facilities all provided free which was nice. It all starts on a downhill course but eventually there is a climb and a long slow climb up to the village of Mollington. Around the village in a clockwise direction. Towards the end of the loop there is the water station which wasn't congested like they usually are. Well organised I thought. On to the final stretch doubling back on ourselves and meeting the back runners about to take their turn through the village. This was a nice long downhill stretch which was very welcome, however the sting is in the tail as their is a steepish climb back into Chester itself. That and an increasing head wind made it a little difficult. Once on the streets of Chester itself it twists and turns until you're into the home straight which was packed with supporters. Crossing the finish line there was a great filter system in operation with plenty of marshalls guiding you through to get your drink, medal, t-shirt (great quality) and finally goodie bag which was good too. This being only the second time this has been run I think they've done a cracking job with the organisation. The only little thing I thought and I over heard others say the same thing too was there needs to be a few toilets at the actual start line. Otherwise couldn't fault it.
