← Cambridge Boundary Run
A winter of niggly injuries coupled with rain, strong winds and a steep (for Cambridge) muddy hill at 24 miles put paid to the sub 3:30 goal, but I did still manage a 6 min PB. This is a lovely multi terrain lap around Cambridge, and I would thoroughly recommended it for those who prefer to shy away from the large big city marathon crowds. The aid stations looked reasonably well stocked, but as I carried enough Tailwind for the whole run I didn't stop to sample anything. Due to recent rain the off road sections were muddier than expected and my road shoes didn't perform as well as hoped. Trail shoes would definitely be a help in years where it is wet underfoot. All in all for the price you pay you can't ask for more than this. A brilliant early season test (or long training run), I for one will be back again next year!
