After signing up under the early bird option, I only paid £17 to enter. An absolute bargain in today's market as race prices seem to get more and more expensive. Upon arriving I parked up at the Village Bakery Gluten Free factory. First thing I did was join the portaloo queue who was huge, it took about 30 minutes. I then made my way to the start area which is a bit of a walk if you weren't expecting it. Once there I started nearer the back which is always a worry as I normally find myself tripping over other runners. Unfortunately I couldn't sneak into the funnel any closer to the start though. Fortunately if was a very quick field so didn't matter too much. The route is a look and then heads off out before coming back into the finish. It's all on country roads and the marshalls were brilliant. There were no issues with traffic that I saw. The route lends itself to a quick time and a few other I knew ran PBs. The medal at the end was fantastic and the Welsh Cakes were amazing too. I ate 4 of mine before getting home! The way back from the finish to the car was a challenge as it's not sign posted and the finish area was in a different place to where we started. I found 4 other guys on the way back who were also lost. We managed to find our way back eventually but took the long route. Overall this is a value for money event and one I'll be doing next year.
