← Marlow Classic Sprint & Olympic Distance Triathlon

This race was part of my tri club's championship race series so there was quite a few of us taking part. A few had raced this race the previous year and highly rated it, so I was looking forward to it. There were several race distances going on the same day but all were split up nicely so there wasn't loads of people racing at once. Registration was nice and simple and transition was close to the car park so quick and easy to get setup before the race. Race briefing was informative, but as there was no microphone or megaphone it was quite hard to hear everything that was being said if you were towards the back. The race itself was great, with a 2 loop swim in the Thames before heading out onto the bike on another 2 loop route with some short and sharp climbs in places but also a long fast downhill. The run is pretty flat the whole way round too and has good support as it passes back through the race village each loop. Just watch out for walkers and dogs along the way as it's quite a popular route on a Sunday morning. Good marshal coverage throughout the race and great medal at the end. Definitely recommend the race for triathletes of all abilities as it caters for all distances.
