Cardiff half marathon is a race i thoroughly enjoy & participate every year. 2016 was especially exciting due to the IAAF championships welcoming athletes including Mo Farah. The weather was wet & windy, but it didnt dull the spirits of the thousands of runners. There were big media screens outside Cardiff castle where you could watch the championship runners making their way along the route. The crowd support was incredible. There were spectators all along the course cheering & offering sweets. There were plenty of water stations which i always find reassuring. The route is fairly flat. There are two inclines but nothing too daunting. The finish line is spectacular as you finish close to city hall & the museum. There is a goodie bag with some nice treats , including a tshirt & adverts for future races. My medal was in the shape of Cardiff castle- its one of my favourites. I reccomend Cardiff half! Its a must.
