Having completed the Skyline 10k a few times before and having missed out on the night version in 2018 I made sure to sign up for it this time. It's not a race to run if you want a PB but it's absolutely the race to run if you want bucket loads of fun. The route is slightly different than the day race but is 90% the same. The views are stunning, the technical bits are good fun but require a lot of concentration. There were some bottle necks around the course that were minimised by starting in waves but still there but as it's not really a PB setting run I'm not sure it really matters and no one really seemed bothered except for one runner who also felt it necessary to wear headphones which weren't allowed so I guess some people are just what they are. On the whole though the atmosphere was brilliant and my fear of being left on my own in the woods quickly disappeared. The route throughout is marked with reflective signs and glow in the dark paint. As it's a two lap race you get the bonus of seeing the night time bath skyline twice. There is absolutely no local support.....because it's dark, you're in a wood and running across fields, saying that though the Marshals are brilliant and the other runners were all friendly so all was good. There is a water station at the start of lap 2 and substantial feed stations at the finish line. Would definitely recommend this run for anyone looking for something a bit different
