This trail race was a beauty! Hills, puddles, wind, rain and mud - I loved it! Registration was straight forward, then a 2 minute walk to the start line. The Langsett Loop was a loop around Langsett reservoir which is between Sheffield and Barnsley. Each loop was 5 miles, and there were a 5 mile, 10 mile, 15 mile, 20 mile and a 30 mile Ultra. There was a marathon which was 5 loops with a little out and back to add the extra 1.2 miles. Each loop was just a nice distance with water/aid stations every 2.5 miles. The support was mainly from dog walkers but it was a shocking day for weather. Wind, rain and cold so many people weren't about. As always, a well organised event from It's Grim Up North Running, great cake at the finish, and a fantastic medal as always. A big thank you today must go to the marshals for standing out in that weather for up to 6 hours!
