← Ironman 70.3 Las Vegas World Championships

If you ever get the chance to go to a World Championship event you have to take it. The buzz is just that little bit more.

Location: A few days in Vegas on the tables is the best way to prepare for the event. The hotels are cheap, have free drinks and food if you lose enough on the tables. A fun way to start the event.

The actually event is hosted at 5star hotel outside of Vegas, with lots of derelict houses around after the US house bubble burst, the golf course has also dried up, but the hotel is still pretty nice.

Swim: In Lake Las Vegas, which is basically a man made urinal. An event that requires you to keep your mouth firm closed.

Bike: A great bike course out into the rolling hills around Vegas, a surprising amount of vertical.

Run: It's Vegas, so hot and humid. Basically runs around some residential areas. 3 or 4 laps of a course with a few ups and downs.

Overall: A lot of fun and great location. Spend a few extra days and see the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, Zion Canyon, Bryce Canyon and Yosemite National Park to make an even better trip. A stunning part of the world.
