I entered this back at the beginning of the year, when it was meant to take place in March. Was going to be part of marathon training, with a run there. I think that’s why I was due to be in one of the last pens. The race isn’t cheap, but I suppose closing roads in London costs a lot of money. I justified it as it supports parkrun. The race itself I loved, the route is flat and the loops mean you can see supporters more than once. There were some local supporters but not much. Some of the marshals were completely disinterested in what was going on! One aid station about half way. Queues for bag drop were long, to be expected as it was cold, so everyone was using them. And everyone would have finished in a half hour period pretty much. Toilets were plentiful. No goodie bags, just a quality medal, water and a protein bar. Free photos were a great idea. Shame I forgot to smile.
