This is one of my local races and this year was the second time that I have entered, it was well organised the first year so I thought why not! Public transport is always excellent getting to the start as long as metrolink doesn't break down and this year it was spot on, bag drop is very easy with the helpers on the ball and well organised. Due to the lovely Manchester weather the faithful plastic bag had to come on to keep dry until the start. This year the start was delayed due to technical difficulties so we were around 10--15 minutes late starting. The first bit I always feel hemmed in as it is through a narrow room through a housing estate and it isn't until around mile 3-4 that the road opens up. Plenty of feed stations and the support was amazing as usual even with the heavy rain. One of the longest finish straights that I have ever done it seems so far away when you turn the last corner. Another great medal this year but once again the t-shirt doesn't fit (maybe an XXL for next year like Chester does). I'll most probably do it again as I enjoy this race a lot.
