The Langley 7 of old (i.e. last year and before) is no more. Redevelopment of the industrial estate where everyone had to park (there was nowhere else) meant that the Langley 7 might have become history after last year. But no, the organisers went back to the drawing boards to reimagine the L7 for the future. There were a few caveats and a foot-note stating: " We're a bit concerned we'll be done under trade description...... the new route isn't 7 miles and doesn't go through Langley. Please don't sue us though." - The new route starts and ends in Macclesfield Forest although some of the old route (the hill) has made it into the new route - The new route is now 8 miles long (12.8km). - There used to be just one hill. It's now a hill-fest. Hills are good for you. But Blake's 7 went on for most of it's run without Blake, and Taggart was without that character for many years. Basically, a name is just a name. And yes, I'm showing my age. So the all new (Not) Langley (Not) 7. Is it any good? Yes. Do it . It's got several hills. Get over it. There's cake at the end. And tea/coffee. And beer. And socks. All profits to a local charity and there's a cake sale at the end as in previous years. Here's my full review http://farrin.me.uk/the-new-langley-7-race-review
