It was a very rain,y August. Thankfully the registration was in the fire station. Lots of volunteers to direct you, queues minimal. Frequent emails and info prior to the race. The race starts on paths and then goes into trail. The last 10 miles were very hard as they seemed to be all road and going through housing which led to,some confusion as to whether we were going the right way. Thankfully some small very helpful volunteers (scouts) came to our rescue. The checkpoints were great especially the one which had home made bread pudding. I could have stayed there all day. Some road crossings could have done with more Marshalls. The Marshall at the last checkpoint didn't seem to know how much further . This was when we started to run through the town centre which seemed as though we were just making up the distance. The trail sections which state,y homes and castles were amazing it was just the last section which seemed to let it down. It was then when. You needed some nice scenery most on heavy cold tired legs. The medal was a generic one for all the race distances which was a little disappointing
