← Frankfurt Marathon

I have made a video blog of my Frankfurt Marathon weekend which will show you what this race is like https://www.youtube.com/edit?o=U&video_id=D00xVqdf4F0 You have to collect your race bib from the expo either Friday, Saturday or race morning. This is at Messe Frankfurt and there was Alcohol Free Krombacher beer, being given away for free. Lots of opportunities to go running shopping. The Saturday hosts the free 5K Pretzel Run (reviewed separately on racecheck but covered in my video) Sunday you store baggage in Messe Frankfurt, it's a massive events venue and has loads of toilets and you can keep warm in there. It was really cold actually but on previous years it's been warmer so take running kit for either conditions. It's a big city marathon with an elite field. Really well organised and the route is dead easy to follow. The aid stations has water, an energy drink which was a little fizzy for my liking and 1 station had gels around 20 miles . There was also bananas on 4 stations and tea on about 3 I think. The finish line is amazing (see video) It's an indoor finish in Festhalle with basically a disco going on, it was incredible and the medal was fantastic. At the end there was a poncho to keep warm as you walked to get your bag, hot soup, cake, bread, Pretzels, drinks, chocolate hearts and no bag full of useless leaflets wasting plastic and paper. They also used paper cups for water so the environmental impact has been considered at this race. I loved this whole weekend
