This race is local to me, so I'm normally able to cycle there. It starts at 1030, but feels a lot later as it normally takes place the weekend that the clocks go back. It's very easy to pick up your number in the clubhouse. There's a bar with coffee, portable toilets are outside and the queue moved fairly quickly. The race starts just on the far side of the road underneath the M25. The hills start straight away, it's definitely not a PB course. The course passes through both suburban bits of Rickmansworth, Chorleywood and Little Chalfont, the countryside between them is quite scenic. There were quite a few marshal points, and water available at three points of the route. It's a good course for spectators, as they can see you in the centre of Chorleywood, before getting the tube to Chalfont and Latimer for a later part of the race, and then back to Chorleywood if they wanted. The last mile of so is a nice downhill finish back to the M25 underpass. You get a small goody bag with mug, T shirt, and water bottle. The cafe/bar at Chorleywood Working Mens Club is still open if you'd like something else (I think they were doing burgers). All in all, it's a nice local friendly race, quite hilly (especially in the first half).
