← Love Luton Half Marathon and 10k

Having read the 2017 reviews, it seems like the organisers have changed lots of things for 2018. I got my race pack in the post so no need to collect on the day. Loads of parking, and good facilities at Stockwood Athletics track - toilets, changing, bag drop, and a place to wait out of the rain! Clear instructions from the guy on the tannoy about start times and places, and different bib colours this year for half marathon and 10k. The race starts at the track and goes through a residential area, a bit of the town, round the outside of a park and then across the same park back to the town centre for the finish. Lots of support in the town centre, less on the roads around, but the marshals were great, and so were the pacers. The route is really clearly marked, and its a good, the hills all go down rather than up, there aren't really any uphills. Great finish line in the town centre, my medal is lovely and glittery, and it says 10k on it so I assume the half marathon ones are different. Reuseable goody back with a reuseable water bottle, foil blanket, pen, badge, and protein bar, and a finishers tshirt. Bananas and water at the finish, and also a shuttle bus service back to the athletics track. This is only a 5 minute journey so you could probably walk. Overall its a really good race, small at the moment, but I'm sure it will grow.
