← Tweed Valley Tunnel Trail Run

I completed the Tweed Valley Tunnel Trail 10k. I signed up with a few people from work and didn't really know what to expect, except that you run through some beautiful trails and through a colourful lit up tunnel. Good points: - Great race, really unique and challenging. - The route and trails are really well laid out. - Fantastic challenge. - There is also a 20k challenge. - Great race village, bag drop worked really well. Nice atmosphere. Bad point: The start is a bit of a mess. It is staggered at 5 second intervals where each runner goes out individually. This is supposed to ease congestion on the trails, which it didn't because the organisation of it was poor. The problem is the process wasn't made clear and the slower runners all went to the front of the queen and out first. Which obviously meant on single land trails you were behind people walking before reaching 1km. This can easily be fixed and hopefully the organisers do for 2019.
