← Runthrough Beat Box Hill 5k & 10k

I don't normally like hills (who does?) and running a road race on a hill is not something I'd normally do but the uniqueness of the Beat Box Hill 10K made me sign up a few days before the event and I was so glad I did. Check out my vlog on YouTube to see the event for yourself: https://youtu.be/xsY8ZuXJsCw This was the first time the zig zag road to Box Hill had been closed for a running event. We ran down, then up Box Hill twice for the 10K distance. It was a proper challenge and very rewarding to complete it. The event was very well organised, the finishing tech t shirt and medal were great and the marshals and rock choir gave great support. I really enjoyed the event and will be back again next year. There were a few things that I think the organisers could do to make the event even better: The parking was in a farmers field at the bottom of Box Hill which was fine but the grass was very long and our shoes were wet before we started the walk to the top of Box Hill. It would be good to get the grass cut next time. A better system of getting the runners to line up at the start. The road should remain closed for all vehicles (including cyclists) until the end of the 10K. There were cyclists going down the hill at speed whilst runners were on their second decent. Not good!
