← Chicago Marathon
This was my 4th Star. Security at Gate 6 wanted me to surrender my running belt, but after checking I was allowed to take it with me. The rules were no hydration packs, but I saw loads of runners with them on the course. The whole atmosphere was brilliant, I had no idea where I was an after a while the route began to look the same. The crowd and street entertainment was fantastic. As I approached "Mount Roosevelt" I could hear the crowd and I knew I was nearly finished. I turned left and descended down to the finish, putting my race face on for the photographers. The Next Coast IPA at mile 27 was delicious! I recommend this for anyone thinking of doing a an international marathon from the UK. Chicago is a lovely and very clean city.
