← Kew Gardens 10K

I loved Kew Gardens 10K. When I saw it was Peter Pan themed I couldn't resist dressing up as Tinkerbell. Getting to Kew Gardens is pretty straight forward. The only issue was the queue entering the grounds because of the bag checks, which I don't remember reading about in the pre-race instructions so that's one to remember for next time. Bag drop was straight forward. Marshals were helpful and I loved that some were dressed up as Pirates and really got into character. It was interesting being chased down by one for looking like Tinkerbell (must be a bit of the story I don't remember from my childhood but added to the experience). There were pacers available on the day if you were looking for a PB. The course is fully inside the grounds so no risk of cars. It can get a bit busy but the runners are staggered in waves based on predicted finish times. It's nice and flat but is a bit twisty turny in places. Loved the medal and the Neverland themed tshirt. Next time I would certainly look at doing the double event weekend

Hi Carmen, we are working on the bag queues but it's a very difficult balance to check bags as an anti terrorism measure and keep queues flowing. We are working on some changes for this year and thanks for your feedback. We have some fun ideas and a great theme to announce this year! Hopefully see you going for the 'Medal of victory' attempt this year! Race Director, Tom - RUNFEST LTD
