I volunteered at Ealing in 2017 so was offered a free place to run the 2018 edition. I was able to experience the race village this time around, having been stationed around the 9 mile mark last year so I didn't get the race buzz until the runners came past my marshal point. It was very straight forward to get to the race village via public transport. Plenty of toilets (always worth getting there early) and easy to navigate race village. Bag drop was easy. Announcements on the PA system during the event so you knew what was happening. Big group warm up and loads of pacers to help you navigate the course. The course itself is very hilly. Be under no illusion that it is challenging on the legs so hill training is a must. It's a closed road race so no issues with cars. Marshalling and local support is great, I saw a few of my friends so really helped. Not a particularly warm day so I didn't use the aid stations but the ones I saw were stocked and some of the local residents were also handing out water and sweets along the way. The medal design this year is really lovely. Another local event crossed off the list for this year.
