The volunteers were excellent throughout the day, they were efficient and really friendly and cheery, with constant encouragement to all runners, using the names printed on all runner's bibs. The race angels at the last hill at mile 24 were a great source of encouragement at this difficult final few miles in the race. My only minor criticism, as in the case with many races, would be that the water and lucozade was provided in bottles on the course, when many runners only take a few sips before discarding, so it seemed very wasteful. Would be nice to see less plastic bottles being used, by possibly using cups instead, although aware this adds additional work for those manning the stations. The course was a nice mixture of city and village views and scenic countryside, all on good roads. The perfect crisp sunny autumnal weather on the day was a final positive that made it overall a really great day and i've already entered again for 2019!
