I ran this race on a media place for Virgin Sport, creating a YouTube video from the perspective of the participant which you can view here https://youtu.be/VaBUOKIl5gY There are 3 Park & Rides on the outskirts of Oxford, you were sent emails in advance on how to pay for parking & bus tickets. Off the bus in town was marshalled & signposted to the start I. The University Parks. Loads of toilets, huge bag drop, lots of different eateries selling food/drink in the race village, lots of photos boards for selfies. There was a good mass warm up then about a 10 minute walk to the start on Broad Street. Mara Yamauchi & Danny Bent started the race, there were confetti cannons, the route was all town based, mostly flat, tarmac roads. A couple of water stations with single use plastic bottles, a couple with paper cups of electrolyte drink. Loads of live music & DJ’s all round the route. Such an easy route to follow loads of signs & marshals. At the finish there should have been a medal, but the recent storm Ali had delayed the delivery so NO MEDAL! However all medals will be posted out to finishers. Awesome goody bag full of snacks, great t shirt for finishers. All in all a good race.
