Personally, I loved this race. It was my first major and second marathon. I was lucky enough to get a charity place after missing out on the ballot. The expo is huge, at the old airport. It is well organised but really busy. 44,000 people collecting race numbers over 3 days. The drinks stations were great. I’d never run where the water was provided in cups but it worked. The stations also included fruit, gels, tea and beetroot shots throughout. It was great to run such an iconic event and the pre and post race organisation was brilliant. Only downside was maybe that you didn’t get a finishers shirt as part of the price.
