First experience of the English Half event and it has easily become a favourite event. Sign up was easy, and I took advantage of the double offer with the Birchwood 10k, which gave both events a great value for money. Race bib was received well in advance and information was regularly available via email & social media. Race day. The start area was a bit chaotic up near the gates, with runners from both races trying to get with pacers or best positions. I found though, the closer you walked towards the actual start line, the more space there was available, maybe better signage and directions on pens for each race. Course was enjoyable, with a mixture of road & part of the Warrington parkrun course before heading back into the town centre and through the Halliwell Jones Stadium too. Support was great in the town centre and on the approach to the red carpet, golden gates finish. Finish area was well set out, easy to navigate through and a great goody bag, medal & t-shirt. Cant wait for the event next year, will be signing up at the 1st available chance.
