← Tadcaster 10

Great value for money local run! Registration was in Riley Smith Hall a short walk into the centre of Tadcaster, race start 5 mins from registration. Simple, easy bib pick up and bags could be left safely in the hall. Timing chip to attach to shoe included. The start only went up 2 mins before the race started so as not to close the roads for long, but it was easy to just follow all the runners so you wouldn't get lost. Very similar to the Vale of York 10 mile, heads out around quiet country roads for the majority of the route, finishing not far from the start. Mostly flat and fast and a small field of serious club runners (around 400 finishers) so would be good for a PB attempt. 2 water stops on route, at 3 and 7 miles. Bottled water and bananas at the finish. Very few spectators as mostly out in the country, but a friendly bunch at the finish. All Marshalls and staff were lovely. Thankyou :) Great finisher T-shirt, but really rubbish medal, they should either up the price by a quid or so and get a better medal, keep the medal but spend a wee bit more on the ribbon so it mentions what it is actually for or just not bother with one to keep the price down. Overall I'd recommend the Tad10, and I'll most likely do it again next year.
