It is common knowledge that the start time of 0800 was down to resistance from stakeholders in the area about the race going ahead. The race was organised well supported well by the locals. The route is fairly flat with only a couple of inclines but nothing to worry about. The water stops were always well stocked and it was easy to transition through. The race organisers communicated well with the runners in the week before the race with advice of the local area and how the runners could help keep the council happy by not making a mess of the place! It was my first time at pacing a half marathon so I’d like to come back and have another crack at it to attempt a quicker time! If you fancy a flat-ish half that doesn’t have 50 odd thousand running with you then this race is for you. Credit to the team for setting this up and I hope it goes ahead again next year.
