A great local half marathon on roads and trails around Northampton. The route has a mixture of both town centre and country lane running, as well a a little throuygh a dull industrial estate, but finishes at Delapre country park in front of the beautiful Delapre Abbey. Registration is simple and at 600 entrants its easy to arrive at the start line 20-30 minutes bfefore race start (9:30 am) and have a stress free arrival. The route is undulating with one reasonably tough hill coming out of the industrial estate around 7 miles and a few other more gradual ones once you get out into the country lanes. Check points are every 3-4 miles (probably not frequent enough if its a hot day) and have water and a few gels. The entire route is very well marshalled. Very nice medal to finish and a few vendors at the race village although the only other 'freebie' is a bottle of water.
