This was a great race in the forest. Organisation was excellent and race village was well attended with lots of food, drink and retailers available. The race was through lovely countryside following mainly gravel paths with occasional short sections on tarmac. Having ponies run along side and across the route was amazing and could hear people loved that they got to see them. Described as flat and fast , the course undulates a bit and running on the gravel does takes its toll on your feet and hips (certainly for me!) so trail shoes may have been a good idea. The last k or so around the event site is hard going as you hear others finish but it does motivate you to get going and finish so no complaints on that part. The only issue I had was trying to leave - it took me an hour to get out of the car park! This has been previously reported but I think the location of the event means that there aren't many options. The marshals guiding traffic did a great job - and although I was frustrated with the wait they empathised and did their best to get things moving. But should be looked at in future races.
