So this is was my first organised trail event/race and wow, what a one to start on. A truly brilliant day for beginners & seasoned trail runners.
Registration & briefing were well communicated and I knew exactly what I needed kit wise and times, locations etc were very clear.
Logistics of the race were simple but very effective. The waved starting times meant it was seamless at the start, HQ wasn’t too busy and we could all here the briefings.
The route itself was spectacular- after a 15 minute walk to the start (mostly uphill) we start off along Peak Cavern with the beautiful Peveril Castle in the background. We meandered around Mam Tor, up and down in a natural runners playground.
At times I was so taken back by the views I had to remind myself to actually keep running.
The finish was just outside the village of Hope and after a short walk back to HQ we received our times & certicates.
No medal yet at only £15 entry and a wonderful day , no grumbles here.
