Milton Keynes marathon was my first attempt at going the full distance. This an excellent race, with fantastic marshals and wonderful support on the course. The course is mainly flat and it certainly doesn't get boring...who knew MK was such a scenic town? Personally I struggled with the last 6 miles of the race but I did manage to get a last burst of energy to complete the stadium finish, which is really lovely. My kids shouting and waving from the stand was a real boost :) The aid stations were well stocked: water and later gels and gatorade, they were positioned every 3 miles which was ideal. My only negative was the very cramped start, this may need a little rethink for next year, but it really didn't take anything away from this event. Yesterday I was never attempting this distance again but as I sit here icing my knee this morning I'm already thinking that I may well go back and try this one again....
