← Yorkshire Marathon

Its a local event for me and a pretty flat one (apart from mile 14 up from Stamford Bridge up to 18 but for the most of this section runners are coming down the other side of the road so it makes it more interesting especially if you have friends taking part too as you desperately try to spot them!

My support crew are usually positioned at mile 18 ish as you can see the runners go past and then come back again. This is when i am usually starting to feel the miles so is a great place to get an extra boost from loved ones :)

It starts and finishes at the Uni of York which has good signposting for parking and refreshments and quite a few toilets within the buildings.

Marshals are great and there are plenty of water stations plus gels on offer.

There's a tough climb close to finish but then once you reach the brow of the hill its a downhill finish which is amazing!

Would recommend this event for runners and spectating.

Also took part in the corporate relay in 2017 which is great fun too and really well organised. I did leg 3 (4 miles) and kept running so managed to do 12 miles total on the day!
