← TCS London Marathon

Love love love! I've completed N=7 London marathon events with my first being in 1999 (feeling old now). I completed 2017 and got in through a 'good for your age' time. Good for your age has a different start to the masses which is smaller than the other starts. There are toilets but not many with huge queues. no bushes to run behind either! However, there were a couple of empty white tents where you could shelter, which weren't signed male and female but they were! I soon realised why they were gender specific as someone had a large sheet which 2 women, at either end, held up so women could squat and wee behind it! Think it was going on in the male tent too! Sorry if too much info ;)

The start was easy to get to on public transport, just make sure you plan the train times beforehand and plan for a 10-15 walk to start from the tube.

Amazing support on route at all points, even around Isle of Dogs (approx 15 miles where you start to need some extra cheering). The embankment is fantastic and i even made it on national TV blowing a kiss to the camera. Meeting up with family and friends at the end is easy using the alphabet posts in st James park (horse guards parade). There is a large tent to get changed in afterwards too.

Would definitely do again.
