← ATW St Albans Summer 10K

Almost entirely flat, this course is definitely one to do if you want to hit a PB...as long as it's not a warm day!

First event for this particular race but it seemed to be well organised. Take a bit of time to find out where you need to park though as Sat Navs will seemingly take you to the wrong place. Once you've made it, there was plenty of parking and super helpful marshals.

The course itself is fairly enjoyable  however I personally found it a little hard going at points. Maybe it was the heat, but I didn't find it as interesting a route as I had imagined. Indeed, the last 3-4km back along the Alban Way seemed to go on forever and the stretch along a major A road wasn't particularly picturesque, mixed with a lack of support until you reached the end made this feel flat in more ways than one.

Even with all that, it was enjoyable for the most part and the medal was decent (though sadly not train related. Missed a trick there!). The water at the end and banana was most welcomed!

Final thought, I would probably do this race again, possibly with signing up closer to the day this time round, but it was great for its inaugural event, and being a local race!
