← AVR Westbury 5k Series

This is a great, small and friendly local race with PB potential. The race is not pretty, being on an industrial estate, and there is no medal at the end but because of its fast and flat profile, it attracted a lot of impressively fast runners to have a go.

The organisation from the Avon Valley Runners was brilliant, with ample parking, a spacious registration location and handy toilets nearby. The briefing was loud and clear and even though the roads were open, there was very little traffic which made it very safe.

For this final race of the series, there was also a free Protocol water bottle for every runner at the end and series prize winners as well as spot prizes for any runner who stuck around until the very end.

Personally, I was only 9 seconds away from my PB and considering I've not been anywhere near that close for almost 3 years just shows how quick this course is. I will definitely be taking part again when it returns in 2019.

Thank you - impressive time. Really is a fast course with plenty of PB potential. Look forward to seeing you at next years series. - Avon Valley Runners
