Back again for a second year for this brilliant friendly and very well organised race and it is an event that every aspiring or experienced Half Iron distance triathlete should do.
From the pre race information (best ever) through to post race contact other brands could learn a lot from Graeme and his team at 113 Events.
The pre race registration on the Saturday was straight forward with parking very close to the registration and start point. Being able to chose race numbers and wave start time must be a logistical nightmare but makes a massive difference being able to rack with friends etc.
The lake swim single lap very well laid out and buoys easy to sight. Transition is tight for space on racking but the random/own choice waves makes this not a problem.
Bike course two laps very well signed, marshalled and policed at tricky junctions with no stopping at all bravo!!
run is a three lap course part through the country park off road part on the road, feed stations great and plenty of support all the way around. Great finish shite and announcement of ‘you are a Finisher’ as you cross the line. All round brilliant event, friendly (particularly for those new to Middle Distance and very reasonable price.
Add this to your must do list!!
