← Runthrough Run Media City in Salford July

This was part 2 of a 3 part monthly series from June - August.

I decided to enter this race late after only finding out about it a few hours earlier but on the night registration was easy.

There were 5k & 10k options of this 2.5 km laps course. I chose the 10k which was 4x laps.

Extensive race briefing & warm up prior to race start with a friendly atmosphere.

The course itself is fast & quite flat. There is a couple of bridge crossings as you weave you’re way through the Media Centre. Nothing in the way of crowd support but marashalls were fantastic.

The course was easy to navigate although some might find the short laps slightly mundane.

Finishers were rewarded with a solid medal, water, energy drink & flap jack. The same medal was given to all runners regardless of wether they completed the 5k or 10k distance.

Nice bonus was free photographs. 100’s of pictures were posted on the organisers website & Facebook page within hours of race finishing.

A good race, I’d do this one again.

In Summary...

HIGHS: PB chasers might appreciate this fast course.

LOWS: Multi lap so runners might find it slightly tedious?

BOTTOM LINE: Friendly, fast & fun race. The course is interesting & something a bit different.
