← Stoke on Trent Festival of Running

With this being the first year of the event, it was never going to be perfect. With some adjustments, the event does have potential.

After parking at the Bet365 stadium we had to make our way down the start point. Not a problem but it was a good 15 to 20 minute walk, so runnners should have been made more aware. The pre-race annooucnement was also very quiet with most runners not hearing it. Just needs a megaphone.

The route itself is a point to point route and is hilly, so great for my marathon training. The marshalls were very supportive and some handed out sweets/lollies and drinks off their own back.

The roads were open to the public but I didn't see it cause any issues.

It was very hot out there so it was good to see  that the water stations were regular.

Medal was decent enough too.

It's important to remember that this was the first time the event had been held, so some amendment for next year could see a big improvement. The start/finish points is one thing I would look to change.
