This is a great event as it has some hills.. Well it is Portland. The swim in 300m, no lane counting as you start in one lane go up and down that lane then duck in to the next lane till youve worked your way across the pool. Short toddle to T1 then almost as soon as your out on the bike, you have to tackle a hill for the first 1.5-2km. Be prepared to get out of the saddle for this one. Then once at the top its all the way to the bill for a turn around then back north. We had a headwind all the back. Becareful on the down hills if your not confident. Luckily after all the climbing the run is a lovely out and back affair (5km). The post race goodies are top notch. A medal, buff and a water bottle.
So I enjoyed it and will be back to get better at this one.
