Leeds Endure (E24) is a multi lap race at Bramam Park just outside Leeds. The laps are 5 miles long & competitors complete as many laps as they can as solo or in teams within a 24 hour cut off.
There was a superb atmosphere on the race site & adjoining campsite. Facilities available included several hot food outlets, massage & even yoga classes. Also shower options & plenty of toilets.
I was competing in a team of 4 runners. Number collection was on the day only & the event was chip timed with a timing device attached to runners ankles.
The course itself has a few little Hills. Nothing too challenging, however I’d urge caution. The course has a few uneven paths so the risk of falling is there. Head torches were MANDATORY from 8pm until 6am. It was a misty night & even with a head torch I found running at night to be challenging.
A massive thank you to the amazing volunteers who give up their weekend to keep us all safe. Absolute heroes.
I saw some amazing running over the weekend & it was a real pleasure to be involved. Very happy with the 40 miles I contributed to my team.
There were bonus prizes for the runners who managed 100 miles but all competitors recieved a nice tech shirt & beatiful medal.
A race I want to do again, maybe next year as a solo or duo.
IN SUMMARY...
HIGHS: A super friendly event & opportunity to grab some serious mileage if you’re willing to put the work in.
LOWS: I rely on public transport so it’s quite difficult to access.
BOTTOM LINE:
Wow! An event I’ll do time & time again in a beautiful setting.
