I'm always partial to a run on a route that normally you couldn't run on, so decided to give this a go.  As the name kind of gives away, this is an out and back route run entirely along the bypass - I have driven this loads of times, so didn't want to miss the chance of running along it.

The route starts from the road outside the local hospital. The PA guy did his best to get everyone going and there were frequent announcements about the extra water that had been brought in on what was a very hot morning.  I decided to carry my own too, which was a pretty good decision given the weather conditions.  Water stations were at the 4 and 6km mark and water seemed in plentiful supply throughout.  There was plenty of support from the marshalling team and everyone was friendly and encouraging.  The medal and T Shirt were fantastic, one of the best medals I have in my collection.

The race village was the usualy mix of charity and running stalls, with a few selling food.  The car park was very well organised and marshalled and, despite the large numbers leaving at the end, hold-ups were kept to a minimum.

In short, this was a very enjoyable event and thoroughly recommended. I'll definitely be back!
