← The Great Chalfield 10K

As my first go at the Great Chalfield 10km all I had to go on was the positive reviews and feedback from past runners - it did not disappoint!

Although it was a very warm, sunny Wiltshire evening, the route was along quiet country lanes, with the highlight being the point which the course took us in front of the stunning Great Chalfield Manor House, a property now operated by the National Trust.

The race was very well organised, the registration process was quick and easy and the event was extremely well supported by local running clubs (even with the temperature AND England playing their final world cup group match on the same evening). The route could be described as undulating, but none of the climbs were more than a couple of minutes long, so it's good for a PB attempt (I managed to take over 4 minutes off my previous best at this race). The course was well marshalled and the water station at 5km came at the perfect time to try and cool down a little bit.

I would certianly reccomend the race and will be returning myself to see if I can master the sub-50 min 10km...
