Very disappointed to find at the finish that the Half Marathon course was 1.9km short! Reading some 10k reviews it seems that the suppossed 7km lap was 600+ metres short
Registration and race number collection was very slick with a very detailed and clear pre race briefing
Only a small field (77 runners?) so a smooth start ensued, the course was a mix of dusty uneven track, tarmac paths, concreted road and a testing woodland section with a short steep hill, altogether about 600ft of climb over the 3 laps
The 3rd lap was livened up as runners from 4 events all mingled together ( 2 x Triathlons, the 10k and Half)
The scenery was gorgeous and varied
Well stocked and well run feed stations with cups of water, Hi5 and flat coke together with jelly beans and gels
Well marshalled although it got a bit frantic not long after i finished near the final stretch as runners from the 4 events converged all with a varying number of laps to complete, an extra and more decisive marshall would have helped
Plenty of food available post run with a good mix of cakes, fruit and drinks. Lots of concession stalls in the post race arena
At least i set a PB for my first (and hopefully only!) 19.2km HALF :-)
However, for a £40 entry fee it would have been nice to have got a finishers t-shirt and a better quality medal.......and a correctly measured course
