Nice mix of town and countryside, catching the sights of Shrewsbury - castle, armoury, archives, breweries, rivers, parks and countryside.
Advised to arrive for 7:30 as the queues of cars start building up at this time. Aimed for 7:30, finally got parked at 7:50. Parking is £3 (I hadn’t read this bit but I had a pound and the lady was ok with this).
Toilet queues build up but move quite quickly, generally they were pretty grim... also didn’t see any along the route so make sure you prepare for that!
Very straight forward organisation before the start, logistics of the race good with no chance of getting lost.
Susie Chan was commentating and had a great rapport with the audience.
Course was a bit of open road, country road and town running. Hills a plenty but crowd support good whilst in the town. Countryside could get a little lonely if you’re a back walker like me!!!
Finish line had great support, good technical tee and a hefty but simple medal.
Photography was delightfully free and of a good quality.
Goodybag was a bit thin on the ground but had the basics - crisps, drink and HARIBO (which of course, cures all ailments).
