← Dambuster Triathlon

When I first got into Triathlon in 2012. The Dambuster triathlon was  race i hear talked about a lot. It was difficult to get into and was one that always had a high quality field. Well I finally got round to entering and I was'nt dissapointed. I know the area and the route well ... but you never get bored of the natural beauty of the location. Set at Rutland water a large inland reservoir the scenery is stunning. The swim is in good quality water in a area which hides the swimmers from any real waves whipped up by the wind. The layout of the transition is close with no major hike from water to T1. The bike course loops around the reservoir and provides a real challenge with some rolling hills with some very fast sections mixed in. The run is fairly flat and again hugs the reservoir providing stunning scenery to finish the race. Overall thus is a great race well organised and it's surprising it is no longert as popular as it once was. It was still a good quality field to compete against and  fair course to race on.
