Except for my very first IM in Nice 10 years ago, this was the best organized IM I have done. And it had by far the best volunteers, spectators and staff. Was enough fun to sign up for the next year right away.

Swim was a simple rectangle. Easy to navigate. I am not a fan of rolling starts, as you never know who is competing with you later on. But it certainly makes the pack easier to organize.

Bike is beautiful. 2 loops of a permanently marked course.Starts with a fast TT along the highway out and back and then into the mountain. Some steep sections, but nothing one shouldn't be able to handle.

Run is a bit hilly to get out of town. But then out and backs on a converted railroad track, i.e. flat.

Plenty of well coordinated aid stations all around. They know how to optimize organization. The town is a perfect hot spot for all activities before, during, and after the race. Just the food at the opening event was soso and guest passes overpriced. Will go for a local restaurant this time.

Overall highly recommended.
