Third year in a row, first time as a solo runner.  The event is getting bigger each year, yet the site remains roomy and well organised.  Registration is an easy enough process IF you are lucky enough to get through.  Solo places sold out within minutes, and my husband and I were really lucky to both get in.

The solo area was great - plenty of space near the course and main village with food tent, etc, plus our own loos.  And we could keep our cars next to the tent which is brilliant, and makes life so much easier.

The main village area had been revamped - the addition of yoga was a nice touch, there were more food and drink stalls, and the fire pit area was lovely.   The course itself remains unchanged - other than the first k which is mainly road up a slight hill leading to the forest, its all trail and a lovely place to run.  The Forbidden Forest and fairy glade remain my favourites, and is so much softer underfoot than the gravel trails preceding this.

The t shirt was blue this year - yay!  The medal, although lovely and hefty, is almost identical to last years!  The food at the food tent was all good quality, and the chocolate flapjacks remain delicious.  The atmosphere across the whole event was excellent.

My only two niggles are the showers and the music.  The music in the main area was almost constant and ridiculously loud, especially at night. Granted it stopped around 11pm on the Friday, but most people were tucked up knowing they would likely get little sleep the following night due to running.  And it carried across the solo area for the whole weekend!  This isn't me being grouchy about loud music (!), friends in the main camp who visited were surprised how loud it was, and many runners commented on the constant loud volume.

And there were just not enough showers - I think there were 26 in total but only 16 of these were working properly.  For over 3000 runners!  There were huge queues in the evening.  PLEASE can solos have their own showers?  Or priority during the race as they do with the massage?

All in all, another fantastic event!  Loved it!
