← Firkin 5 Mile

Ran the inaugural last year, and came back again this year.  No major changes - same route which starts on the road in the village, before heading out along a hilly track and into the fields.   Lovely views at the top, and I enjoy the mix of track, fields and road.

Good atmosphere at the water station where people hung out for water or beer, and the finish line had been moved slightly which saved runners tripping over huge stones in a gateway at the final turn back into the brewery.  Enthusiastic marshalls on the course and at the finish to cheer us on!

Very similar bottle opener medal to last year and a goody bag with a beer towel and some leaflets.  No free burgers (or indeed, any burgers!) post race this year so no long queues!  You could buy a token to have a pre-warmed up hotdog in foil ready for after though there seemed some confusion about how/where to do this.

A lovely route, and a popular race, but the Brewery may need to change the medal if they want runners to keep coming back year on year.
