Running round the lanes from Crewkerne Town Square, through Merriott and then Hinton St George, the lanes aren't closed to traffic - but I would say I only passed 5 cars along the route, each of which was respectful to runners. Taking in the lanes there is little local support, but there are plenty of marshalls along the route, and they do a great job. The route itself is hilly, there is an out and back from 0-2km and 8-finish, the rest is a loop. There are significant hills throughout, with a long drawn out and, in places, steep hill going from 8-9.5km. There is little shade which in 2018 would have been great but there are 3 water stations along the route offering cups of water. I didn't notice any problems with running out either. A nice finish back tot eh town square where there is good support and a tannoy annoucing finishers. The medal is nothing spectacular - but at the end of the day for an event that can cost £11 I don't expect enough, a small memento to remember the run is all I need. I'll probably be returning next year - with more hill training beforehand!
